About Selfpost
One place to arrange a delivery.
Selfpost is a digital information and transaction service for arranging deliveries. It brings ongoing carrier routes, parcel requests and journeys already being made into one process.
What Selfpost is
Selfpost is an online information and coordination platform. It helps users find and evaluate delivery options based on the route, timing and practical conditions of a delivery.
Selfpost supplies the information and technical process needed to make a choice, agree a delivery, pay, coordinate the handover and record completion. It does not transport items itself and is not the carrier.
Why it exists
Useful delivery capacity already exists in many forms: a traveller may already be making the right journey, while a professional carrier may already operate a suitable route. Information about those possibilities is often fragmented or difficult to compare.
Selfpost brings relevant options into one process so a user can understand what is available and decide whether to proceed. A match is never guaranteed, but the information and transaction steps should remain clear when one is possible.
How it works
A sender can browse ongoing carrier routes, then create a parcel request with pickup and destination, preferred date, contents category, weight and recipient details. A carrier checks the specific parcel and date and sends an offer with a full price and delivery deadline. Travellers can also respond to open requests.
The sender decides whether to accept the offer, then pays through Selfpost before pickup. Before payment, questions use structured messages and company names and direct contacts remain private. After payment, the parties can exchange the details needed for delivery. The recipient shares a one-time delivery code only after receiving the parcel.
Information about professional carriers
Companies apply with their registration details, operating routes and cargo limits. Approval, company payout onboarding and personal operator verification come before they can operate. Each company can have up to three operators with the same rights and one company payout account.
The public catalogue shows an anonymous verified carrier option, with route, schedule, cargo limits and service conditions. An ongoing route stays available for enquiries until paused; a listed date or starting price does not guarantee capacity or confirm a booking. Selfpost does not publish an open directory of company names and contacts.
What each party is responsible for
The person arranging the delivery is responsible for lawful contents and appropriate packing. A traveller or professional carrier decides whether the delivery fits their journey, capacity and conditions, and is responsible for safeguarding an accepted item while it is in their possession.
Selfpost provides delivery information, user and partner checks, payment through Stripe, controlled release of contact details and recorded transaction events. It does not take possession of an item. The Terms explain cancellation, refunds and liability in detail; Support is the place to report a problem.
